New Forest residents are urged to keep their neighbourhoods fit for a Queen when they hold their Jubilee street parties.
While it is hoped that everybody will join in the right royal celebration, New Forest District Council asks that all rubbish is cleared away after the event to help with waste collections.
Recycling and rubbish collections days will stay the same over the Jubilee bank holiday for all forest residents.
If your collection day is a Monday or Tuesday and you are planning on holding a street party to celebrate the Jubilee, please help your collection crew by making your household rubbish accessible.
Any refuse sacks that cannot be picked up should be taken back inside and will be collected the following week.
Residents are also invited to become royal recyclers during the Jubilee holiday by putting all plastic bottles, cans, paper and card in the clear recycling sack.
Once the celebrations are over residents are reminded to recycle all their glass by taking glass bottles and jars to their local recycling centre.
New Forest District Council’s portfolio holder for the environment, Councillor Edward Heron, said:
“We hope residents have a brilliant time celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and are sure everyone will show respect for their neighbourhood by making sure all rubbish is tidied away after the event.”
