New Forest District Council vehicle
There are changes to New Forest District Council’s recycling and rubbish collections over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
As there will be a change for all households, the council is calling on residents to check this information and share it with their neighbours and local family and friends.
Household recycling and rubbish (including food waste for phase 1 and 2 areas of the new waste collection service):
The below list shows the original collection date followed by the rescheduled collection date.
- Thursday 25 December changed to Saturday 27 December
- Friday 26 December changed to Monday 29 December
- Monday 29 December changed to Tuesday 30 December
- Tuesday 30 December changed to Wednesday 31 December
- Wednesday 31 December changed to Friday 2 January
- Thursday 1 January changed to Saturday 3 January
- Friday 2 January changed to Monday 5 January
- Monday 5 January changed to Tuesday 6 January
- Tuesday 6 January changed to Wednesday 7 January
- Wednesday 7 January changed to Thursday 8 January
- Thursday 8 January changed to Friday 9 January
- Friday 9 January changed to Saturday 10 January
Collections will resume as usual from Monday 12 January
For the first general waste collection after Thursday 25 December, NFDC will collect one additional sack of rubbish (maximum 90 litres) from households who have moved to the new waste collection service.
The sack should be left next to the black-lid wheelie bin when put out for collection.
NFDC will also collect a small bundle of dry, flattened cardboard on recycling collection day.

Glass:
The below list shows the original collection date followed by the rescheduled collection date.
Thursday 25 December changed to Saturday 27 December
Friday 26 December changed to Saturday 3 January
Thursday 1 January changed to Saturday 10 January
All other glass collection days will stay the same.
Garden waste:
As usual, garden waste collections will be paused for two weeks from late December.
This will be from Monday 22 December to Friday 2 January.
Garden waste collections will resume from Monday 5 January
